Wates Group has appointed British Land’s former head of sustainability and corporate affairs Cressida Curtis as the firm’s new group sustainability director.
Curtis will join the business in the new year and sit on the group’s executive committee, reporting to chief executive Eoghan O’Lionaird.
She joins Wates from the ESG and sustainable business team at Brunswick, where she has spent the last three years advising UK and international companies. Her career has also included stints at Logicor and Quintain.
Curtis said: “I am thrilled to be joining Wates, which has such a deep commitment to sustainability and the appetite to accelerate progress in the sector. The company’s significant sustainability initiatives, first class team and innovative approach to creating value for all its stakeholders underpin its reputation.”
O’Lionaird added: “At Wates, we are passionately committed to becoming an ever more sustainable business. I’m delighted to welcome Cressida to the executive committee as we look to build on the strong foundation that is in place and deliver a leading sustainability strategy for our sector.”
