Whitbread has appointed Landsec chief executive officer Mark Allan as an independent non-executive director, with effect from 1 October 2026.
Allan, who has led Landsec since April 2020, will also join Whitbread’s audit committee and nomination committee. Prior to Landsec, Allan served as chief executive officer of St Modwen Properties and spent 14 years at Unite Group, including 10 years as CEO. He began his career at KPMG, where he qualified as a chartered accountant.
Whitbread has also announced that Horst Baier, who has served on the Whitbread board and the audit committee from November 2019, will step down from 1 October 2026 after having served six and half years.
