Hammerson has secured outline planning consent for a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme at Cabot Gate in Bristol.

The scheme will deliver up to 600 student accommodation units, new public realm and community uses on underutilised land at the site.

The consent builds on Hammerson’s wider programme of investment in Bristol, including approved plans to enhance Quakers Friars.

Jonatan Carlring, development director at Hammerson, said: “Securing outline planning consent for Cabot Gate is a significant milestone for this important city centre site. We have worked closely with Bristol City Council and the local community to bring forward proposals that improve connectivity, create high quality public spaces and deliver much‑needed accommodation, while enhancing the arrival experience into Bristol. We look forward to exploring next steps for this exciting scheme.”
