Build-to-rent (BTR) developer, investor and operator PLATFORM_ has acquired a 1.8-acre residential development site in the centre of Bristol for an undisclosed price.
PLATFORM_ intends to deliver more than 300 new BTR homes on the site, which overlooks the River Frome, in addition to flexible employment space, a new riverside walk and a pocket park.
The site has been earmarked for residential development in Bristol City Council’s Frome Gateway Spatial Regeneration Framework.
Stewart Knight, acquisitions director at PLATFORM_, said: “We are delighted to have secured a site in Bristol as the city has been at the top of our target list for a long time. We were attracted by the combination of a strong local economy, excellent demographics and a real shortage of high quality, well-managed rental accommodation. We’re looking forward to working with the city’s planners to bring forward a planning application to deliver much needed new housing.”

This is a unique opportunity for PLATFORM_ to deliver over 300 quality homes contributing to the provision of much-needed housing required by this dynamic and growing city. This will be the twelth BTR project for PLATFORM_, taking our operational and under development pipeline to over 4,000 units with a completed value of £1.3bn.”
PLATFORM_ is aiming to submit a planning application to the council in January next year.
