Savills raised more than £40m from the sale of 112 properties at auction on 19 November.

Standout lots included a freehold retail parade comprising five retail premises and a kiosk on an established shopping parade in Harrogate, Yorkshire, which sold for £2.75m (pictured).

A freehold, mixed-use retail and residential investment property on Kilburn High Road in North West London, which generates annual rental income of £85,936 sold for £1m, and a freehold mixed-use commercial and residential opportunity on Balham High Road, which is in need of refurbishment, sold for £1.017m.

Ben Hodge, auctions director at Savills, said: “We saw particularly strong performance across the commercial and development sector and buyers with significant budgets were keen to secure top-tier stock in key regional towns and cities that offered an asset management or development angle. The interest in these markets signalled that there is a sense of medium term positivity among investor buyers wanting to acquire property that offers value-add opportunity.

“Across the residential side there was more caution, suggesting that some buyers are responding to recent interest rate increases while others are holding out until the new year. However, well priced stock transacted well, receiving competitive bids and selling above guide. Interestingly, London flats were a category that stood out on the day with apartments in prime locations such as Wimbledon, Islington and Chelsea selling well.”
