Countryside Properties (Bicester) has secured resolution to grant planning consent for 72 homes and a 75-bed care home as part of the final phase of its Kingsmere development in Bicester.
Of the new homes, 30% will be delivered as affordable housing. Kingsmere forms part of the wider South West Bicester development, situated between Middleton Stoney Road and Oxford Road, which secured planning consent for up to 1,585 homes in 2008.
Construction began in July 2010, and the development has since been delivered in full, with this site representing the final remaining parcel of land.
James Harkin, head of Vistry Strategic Land, said: “This approval means we can move forward with a practical and deliverable solution for the final phase of Kingsmere, completing a well‑established and successful community in Bicester. The approved plans will make an important contribution to local housing delivery, including affordable homes and specialist elderly care, while ensuring continued investment in healthcare provision elsewhere in the town.”
