David Wilson Homes has secured planning consent for a new residential development off Cambridge Road in Sawbridgeworth.
The first phase of the development, which is located to the north east of the market town, will provide 85 new homes.
The 13-acre scheme will provide a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments and two- to four-bedroom houses, with 40% of the homes designated affordable.
Lauren Potter, development director at David Wilson North Thames, said: “We’re pleased to have secured planning permission for the first 85 homes at this important new development in Sawbridgeworth. Our plans will deliver 184 much-needed high quality new homes in total, including a significant proportion of affordable housing, alongside associated infrastructure. With detailed consent now in place for the first phase of new homes, we look forward to starting works on site in spring 2026 and working closely with the local community and council.”
