Grocery discounter Lidl GB is searching for new warehouses in the South of England having spent £435m on two facilities in Gildersome, Leeds, and Belvedere, London.
In an update, the company, which operates 14 distribution centres in England, Scotland and Wales, said it had spent £285m across two buildings at Belvedere (pictured), increasing its footprint by 167% since it first opened at the site in 2003.
Lidl, which now boasts 800,000 sq ft of warehouse space at Belvedere, spent £160m building a new second warehouse at the site and demolished an existing building to make way for a new state-of-the-art warehouse.
Last month, the company commenced construction at a 38-acre site in Gildersome, where it is investing £150m on a new facility.
The company said that the projects, coupled with its ongoing search for new warehouses in the south of England, would reinforce its scale and ambition as it continued to grow.
