Tishman Speyer has completed the full recapitalisation of Sainsbury’s former headquarters at Holborn Circus in Farringdon and agreed an early termination of its lease with the supermarket group.
The key milestones mean the major refurbishment of the property can now move forward with initial works expected to commence in the second half of 2026.
The refurbishment plans include the creation of new internal atriums, a reimagined ground floor and basement experience, and the addition of a new roof terrace offering views across London.
Martin Simonneau, managing director of Tishman Speyer, said: “We’re delighted to be moving ahead with our transformation of Holborn Circus. This step reflects Tishman Speyer’s and its partners’ conviction in the long-term fundamentals of prime office space in London. We will now move forward with our vision, leveraging our placemaking and development expertise to deliver one of the City’s most desirable and sustainable working environments.”
CBRE, Knight Frank and Newmark have been appointed joint leasing agents at the building.
